In 1971, two high schools in Alexandria, Virginia are forced to integrate. The football team is where it happens first. Coach Herman Boone is brought in over a white coach who has been there for years. What follows is not a simple triumph — it is a film about what it actually takes for people who have been enemies to become something else.
