This film is the sequel to Jean de Florette. It's been 10 years since her father's death left Manon tending goats in the rugged hills of Provence. Struggling to make her way in the world, Manon has no idea that her neighbor, C├ęsar Soubeyran (Montand), and his nephew, Ugolin (Auteuil), cheated her out of her father's land.
