François Truffaut gives us this incredible tribute to the joys, yearnings, pains and wonders of childhood. In the quaint French town of Thiers, the streets abound with the sound of children laughing and playing. While most of them deal with such simple issues as puppy love and attending school for the first time, some don't find life quite so easy. The hungry ones play upon the heartstrings of neighbors for supper and the lonely ones cause troube for attention. But when the truth behind one little boy's petty thievery is revealed, a shockwave is sent through this picturesque town that helps everyone finally see the children for who they truly are. 105 minutes, 1976, MPAA rating: PG, DVD includes French and Spanish language tracks and English, French, and Spanish subtitles.
