French Lesson Plan

The story follows the life of Thomas who is obsessed with the idea that he was mistakenly switched at birth with his neighbor, the wealthy and privileged Alfred Kant. As a child, the most important person in Thomas' life is his beloved sister, Alice. When Alfred Kant steals Alice's heart, Thomas is devastated and, in his dreams, imagines himself to be "Toto le héros," a secret agent who will avenge his loss. As a young man, he discovers a love of his own, Evelyne, but, once again, Alfred Kant is there to take his place. Years later, as a crotchety old man, Thomas relives his childhood fantasy and, masquerading as "Toto," sets out to reclaim from Albert, once and for all, what he has been deprived of for so many years - his life.
