French Lesson Plan

In 1794, in year five of the French Revolution, "The People's Hero," Georges Danton, returns to Paris after a self-imposed exile. He's come back determined to stop "The Terror" of The Committee of Public Safety headed by Maximillian Robespierre and symbolized by The Guillotine. Once partners in orchestrating the People's Revolution, Danton and Robespierre now stand diametrically opposed to each other in their methods. Danton wants peace and the end of State Terror, even at the cost of his own head, while Robespierre, "The Incorruptible," is driven by an almost neurotic obsession to preserve the Revolution at any cost.
